This howto will describe the steps you need to do to install the Sametime Client on your BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Please note: You couldn´t update/install/remove a Sametime client if your device is connected to a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) and if your BES Administrator has blocked that option!
Step 1:
Make sure you have installed the latest BlackBerry Desktop Manager (called DM in later steps). You can get the latest version from the BlackBerry/RIM website.
Step 2:
Connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB cable that came
with it, or any USB cable that fits and start the DM.
Step 3:
After DM finished loading start the "Application Loader"
Step 4:Choose the Option to Add/Remove Applications

Step 5:
Depending on your device you might see a similar screen now.
From this screen, click browse.
Step 6:
Once you click browse you will see a
file search screen. Browse to the location where you unzipped the Sametime Client. After that select the ALX file and click on open.
Note:
Make sure you unzipped both the alx
file and cod file(s) in the same folder. If you don’t the installation will fail.
Step 7:
After that you will return to the Application
Loader screen. From here you should see that the Sametime Client now
listed with install under the action column. Press next to install it.
Step 8:
You will now see what actions will be
taken with your BlackBerry device. In the screenshot you can see that it will install only the Sametime client on the device. Click on finish to start the installation proces.
Step 9:
You’re done now! You can now exit the DM and disconnect your BlackBerry device.
